One Great Adventure is a series of newsletters that we began publishing in 1972.  They are full of our observations and suggestions.   Around here, One Great Adventure is commonly referred to when outfitting trips and training new employees.  Many of the previous editions have information that is very useful today, much like a favorite family recipe.   Successful outfitting comes from trial and error---experience.  You’ll find some of that experience in every newsletter. 

Snook On the Fly (2006) is a newsletter from our Fly Fishing Shop, and focuses on Snook Fly Fishing.

The Hesitant Hiker (2002) is the chronicle of our friend Tom Oldt, backpacking in the Wind River Mountains in the fall of 2001.  He gives great insight into preparing for an extended backpacking trip, when to splurge, when to be conservative.  (See the checklist!)  His satirical wit has never been so polished, and entertaining.  There is no doubt that he sees the world very differently after this trip.

Hunting the High Country (2001) is a how-to reference for anyone planning a hunting trip.  Western  Big Game, Hunting Deer in the Southeast, Bird Hunting, etc. are some of the articles.  It is loaded with useful checklists.  We have printed copies of this newsletter available at the store.  Only the download version is available on-line.
